Do people really go to college to become a librarian?
Oh, yes. There was a time when I briefly considered going back to school, with a Master's in Library Science as my goal. Unfortunately, the numbers didn't work out. After racking up who knows how much debt to get the degree I'd be looking at a job that paid a bit over $30K/yr. This was about 35 years ago.

There are far more people who want to be librarians than there are good-paying librarian jobs. The economics, therefore, work out like any other field. Employers can demand a huge education while offering very low wages relative to the expensive degree.

Alrighty, well here's some photos of my trip to Cape Canaveral to support one of the many launches we've had. While I was there I basically spent all my time not working on the vehicle, pushing the limits of where I could go without base security either making me leave or all out just pointing rifles at me. I probably should've tried a little harder because I only got asked to leave a couple places.

So here's Complex 14, the launch site for the Mercury launches and the Mercury Memorial

Here's LC-39A, launch complex for the Apollo and Space Shuttle missions. This was just before they started demo.work taking down the Space Shuttle service Structure rotating arm and converting the launch tower into the crew dragon launch structure. We went through each level and explored everything, also really nice view up at the top.

Here's a launch I got to watch. Atlas V-551 launch from SLC-41. I was at SLC-40 at the time of the photo. So it's like, eh, mile away roughly. Close enough to feel like the rocket flew over your head as it lifted off.

Second photo is a night test in McGregor where I normally work.

Here's me and a few guys in the diverter for the first stage test stand.

Do people really go to college to become a librarian?
Just watching the news, they are talking about colleges, and this was mentioned.

On top of everything else, it doesn't really seem like smart move.
My sister is a librarian with her master's in library science. She does alright.
