Wow. I thought the record was 3 something. Im shooting for 8-10 seconds. I havent shot it on a timer yet. I have shot at the target a few times. What is wild is it is basically gas, brake, brake, gas! Drawing the gun then slowing down on the first 2, doing a good reload then burning 4 shots in the circle fast is a good test of many different skills.

ohh great

dot torture, now this......:banghead:

I found dot torture "easy" compared to this (although I could do better with that one and shoot out farther as well).

You are on the gas pedal to get out of the holster, then on target, but then have to slow down, make your head shots and then hurry up and reload and make your final shots fast into the circle.

I need to spend some time with the drill.

yeah......this is gonna be a doozy. So am I correct in thinking that it is incorporating accuracy with speed?

man that's tough......looks like fun though. Plus side to this drill is it can be done eight times with a 50 round box of ammo.

I know that I fight it all the time, almost think I am trying to hard sometimes, actually making it worse
For sure you can. A big guy can use his muscles against himself. When you are muscling the gun around you also have to use muscles to stop it.

Im not kidding you, old fat guys run circles around me at IDPA because they have the technique.

Im recovering from recoil well but need to remember to lean out a bit more. Im almost too relaxed letting the recoil go into my upper body but controlling the gun.

I have no problem believing that. I can feel myself really trying to muscle the recoil control, then trying to ease up and have a smooth trigger pull sometimes. The whole time I am fighting myself.......making it worse

I have noticed it watching hi speed footage of people drawing. The "punch out" tactical method means you have to use your muscles to stop the gun as well. Bringing it up on an angle allows you to use gravity to stop the gun.

I've been trying to focus on cranking my support hand forward. Might be next weekend before I get out unless Sunday afternoon is nice.

That has made a huge difference in my shooting. I can damn sure tell when I don't have it aggressively/exaggerated forward with my thumb strait forward
