I got a new knife for my birthday that quickly became my favorite EDC. I like it even better than the Chris Reeves Sebenza 21 I used to own. Introducing the Spyderco Sage 2 for 1/3 of the investment.

For a knife that will last you a lifetime try the zero tolerance 0350 or 0566...a little over your $100 budget but well worth it. You can get them from $110 - $120

    Gunz are icky.
Been using a Boker Kalashnikov 74 auto for a few years now.
Its ugly and big but has held up pretty good. Not bad for a $50 knife.
I've just ordered a couple of the mini models the other day. Waiting for them to arrive.

I'm also in the market for a knife. it will actually be my 1st real knife. Looking at something of good quality that will last. A Benchmade will probably end up in my pocket.

Benchmade is a solid choice. If you've got the money too spend though I'd recommend considering an Emerson as someone else suggested. I personally own both a benchmade and an Emerson and both are good, the wave feature on emersons puts it a bit above a benchmade in my opinion.

If you shop around, you can find several models of Spyderco for less than a C-note. I just picked up a digital camo, black blade Spyderco Military for $90.00 shipped, and it's one helluva knife for the money.

The Spyderco Endura in all its various flavors ain't nothing' to sneeze at, either, and they can be had for around $70 new.

I'm new to knives but I like these style of knives. From what i've read, both are good quality products. Please chime in with your experiences or recommendations?

And apologies in advance. Don't mean to hijack the thread.
