Finally got around to getting my first CZ rifle, a 455 in 22wmr. Also picked up the 22lr threaded barrel as well and a Vortex Crossfire ii 3-9x40. Can't wait to try it out!

Nice rifle, Jim. I have my first CZ rifle in route, a 527 in 7.62x39 and would love to add a rimfire too.

Congratulations on joining the CZ crew. I have a 452 Silhouette and it's a fine rifle.

I hope your 455 meets and/or exceeds your expectations.

Nice choice. I love my 452's and 455's. I never got sold on the barrel swap feature...a little too much trouble, and then there's having to re-zero the scope when switching calibers.

Charlie you need to get yourself a CZ pistol if you don't have one! I purchased my 8th (current) at the same time I picked this up. The CZ 1911. I think my next purchase will be the 527 in .223.

Absolutely loving this thing so far. Put the 22lr barrel on and it is ridiculously quite with my ha guardian. Bolt and trigger are nice but need some use to smooth them out. Will finish getting the scope dialed in and post some targets.

Can you give a ballpark price on just the .22LR barrel? I bought a 455 in 22wmr when it first came out and the 22LR barrels weren't available then. Is the 22LR a bull barrel?

The barrel is a regular taper 20" barrel and was $123 from CZ USA. It is threaded 1/2 x 20 so I also had to buy a 1/2 x 28 adapter which ran me $35 from CZ.

They have a 16" 22lr bull barrel with 1/2 x 28 threads for $189 (out of stock right now) as well as a few other threaded 22lr options.

Mine is the 455 Varmint model and has a 20" heavy (bull) barrel in 22wmr - deadly accurate (pardon the pun).
jcrntx, looks like the threaded barrel choices for me are the 'out of stock' 16" bull barrel or the 24" Varmint barrel. I'm thinking I'll wait on the 16" barrel to go with my Spectre II silencer. (I did put in an auto-email notice for when they're back in stock). Thank you again for calling my attention to it.

You MOFO's are making me want to buy one of their .22's. 10/22 - meh - everybody's got one. I bought a CZ shotgun a year or so ago and still think for the money, one of the best values out there.

I've had a chance to travel around the Czech Republic a bit; seeing lots of historical museums, castles, armories, etc. In that region of Europe (to include adjacent southeastern Germany) it's easy to find fantastic collections of 16th & 17th century firearms (mostly long guns have survived). A lot of those firearms are truly "works of art" with inlaid silver or gold & ornate scroll work. The common man typically couldn't afford (even if it would be legal) to have a firearm built for himself, frequently "money was no object" for those elite enough to commission such work. Another thing a lot of those long guns have in common is their point of origin in what is today's Czech Republic. Subsurface ore mining operations goes back to the Middle Ages in this region of Europe and with the introduction of gunpowder to Europe (from Marco Polo's travels), it was a natural course of events for the science of metallurgy to develop and firearms to be produced especially in this region. The Czechs know how to make high quality firearms (...and kolaches)!
