Mystery car wreck? WTF?

This is what "Big Data" gets us. Someone did a search on my name, looking for someone in Cleveland who either shares it or was using it, and got data cross-referenced by address that included my sister and her phone number. Without thinking it through and verifying that they were calling the right household, they called my sis.

That's a private insurance company, probably a bit better run than anything DHS/police department would be using. What's scary as hell?

It didn't happen unless you have written proof.

there are so many creative scams, you got lucky with a legit insurer, but get it in writing.

Personally, I wouldn't call them back at that number. Call your insurance company, give them the info and ask them to keep you advised. Sounds like a scam, and you'll know the second they ask for an "administration fee to process your claim".
