Stated watching breaking bad on Netflix thru our PS3 via hdmi on our 4k tv, pic quality is terrible! Any way to make it better?

Although many TV shows and movies on Netflix can be streamed in HD, you need a fairly fast broadband connection for it to actually be viewed in HD. I only have 1.5 mb DSL, and it isn't enough for Hi Def viewing. So, even tho I select HD on the start-up screen, it reverts to SD. When I play a DVD, it is very close to 720P, but that is a function of the upscaling DVD player.

I enjoy the 3d movies and IMAX. Half of all the movies 3-4 each year are in IMAX or some premium 3d. It's just me and the wife and we rarely get anything except popcorn maybe once a year.

That said, I don't do IMAX, 3D or the other expensive stuff, and we prefer to go to matinees.
I don't do 3D because every implementation I've ever tried gives me a massive headache.

That goes for home, too. I've bought just one 3D movie, the full-magilla version of Avatar, because my sis loves the movie. That'll be the last 3D movie I ever buy. I can charge up the glasses, switch the screen to 3D, and get 90% of the theatre experience while at home.

But after a 3D movie in either venue, home or theatre, I wind up begging my sister to spare me a morphine. The headaches are that intense.

Black Hawk Down was last time I went to theater. Doubt I will ever go again, too costly, too inconvenient, too filthy etc. Netflix FTW. When I want to watch, on clean chair, with my food. Plus the luxury of stopping movie and re-starting whenever you want. Missed dialogue? No problem, back it up. No cell phone or other rude people to deal with.

I don't know how Regal RPX is, but I do prefer premium theaters. Moviehouse & Eatery is my favorite. It's $12 a ticket, but their seats are very comfortable electric recliners plus they have real food and drinks. You pick your seat when you buy as well; if your favorite row is sold out just get the next showing. Best of all, no riff raff in sight.

I hate going to the movies, my wife loves it. So we compromise and I go to the movies.

But there days I only go, if I feel that something will be lost if I don't see it on the big screen. Like avatar. Horrible movie but worth seeing on a 60 foot screen. Interstellar is another good example. Or if she begs enough. Last movie I went to was night at the museum. Passed out snoring the whole movie. Oh well.

Amazon has them out pretty quick and I think apple puts them out the quickest. Much faster than DVDs at least

Indeed. Moviehouse, and Alamo Drafthouse. Full bar, reserved excellent seats, and pretty good food.

Me as well. My new wife doesn't quite get it yet though. I keep telling her she's right and she makes the decisions but she doesn't listen.
