One of the problems they faced in Katrina was the results of folks off their meds, legal and illegal. Illegal drugs are keeping as many or more folks calm as the Dr. prescribed ones.
Something tells me the cartels won't be slowed down one bit.

I will say you're a smart man for keeping this in mind. I've seen too many peppers who focus on guns, food, and defense while not giving much attention to medical and sanitation supplies.

Do meds in hermetically sealed packs actually expire?

yes. Most drugs will break down. Some are very stable. Others are not. While I except the expiration date to be conservative, taking 10 year old antibiotics may not be a great idea.

Any idea if there's a database of acceptable beyond use dates?
