I'm looking for someone that has a lathe and that can turn a piece of aluminum rod (or tube) stock to make a pair of bushings.
I have a Primary Arms MicroDot (actually I have a number of them), and the bikini cover that comes with it is - well - crap. I looked into getting some of the Butler Creek covers, but they don't make one small enough for my application. My thought was to manufacture some bushings that would slip over the ends of the scope and that were secured with a hex set-screw, and that had a large enough O.D. to allow the use of a Butler Creek cover.
Can anyone help me out with this idea?
I would prefer someone that was within a 75-mile radius of San Antonio if at all possible.
If it works out, there's a possibility of a small market for these bushings in the form of existing PA MicroDot owners and maybe even Primary Arms themselves.
