Thanks!
Although, I have to comment on the fact that he squeezed off two more rounds into the first intruder after he was down which could have helped with the second intruder.
I'd probably do the same with the adrenaline and all but God help anyone stupid enough to kick in my door here in the great state of Texas.
I'm positive that the creator of the video wrote those last two (first intruder) shots in to initiate comment.

What disturbed me was the homeowner closed his eyes at each shot. I hope they do better on future videos.
Of course I have no real world experience.
He didn't flinch, he slammed his eyes shut! Otherwise I agree with your post Sage.
An LEO friend of mine and his partner were confronted by a crackhead that took 9 rounds from his 9mm. It took 3 more from his partners 45 to put him down. Yes, I can see the extra two shots. Shoot them till they stop being a threat. He and his families problem was that he didn't have enough to do the same to the second intruder. Hence the dramatization. Good video that needs wider dissemination.
The first bad guy was staggered but coming back up when the homeowner shot again. Just because he's down doesn't mean he'll stay there.
i read a story the other day from a former LEO where he dumped 14rounds into a dude and he kept coming. the officer said he was in the bed next to the perp at the hospital and the doc said "this guys a lost cause, did the officer really have to shoot him this much?"
the story said the cop now carries over 100rds or something like that. i wish i coukd find it.
He was still holding his pistol, too. Shoot until the threat is eliminated!
I guess in hindsight dad should have gone for a headshot, but who has that kind of cognition in a deadly force encounter? Video makes a good point. And now for a real life story to drive it home:
Why you don't want to rob a gun store, apparently even at night in this case by
Very well done video. I especially like the big flinch on the last round, with the piss-poor hit to match. It was a nice touch.
Taking a life is hard for anyone who isn't a sociopath. I would expect someone who's had minimal training and probably never even hunted before to want to shut their eyes. Hell, a lot of novice hunters will pull the shot because they subconsciously don't want to kill bambi. He didn't flinch, he slammed his eyes shut! Otherwise I agree with your post Sage.
