Thoughts, opinions, and comments. Or better ideas? For the short term emergency situations, one to three weeks. In the long term, we are going to run out of toilet paper anyway. Then it will be out houses and slit trenches. I'm thinking of a period when there isn't water to flush, or in my case, when the aerobic septic system fills up. What's a good plan for sanitation requirements when staying in place?

The cleanest way to take a shit is to dig a hole about two feet deep.

Straddle the hole and let loose. If you don't have toilet paper, you can wipe your ass with pages out of the phone book or old news papers (be sure to crumple the paper to soften it).

Afterwards, cover the hole with the soil you removed.

Alternatively, if you have lots of people and little land on which to shit, just do what soldiers have done for years.
Shit in a container then burn it, or find a stream or river and dump your load in cool, soothing waters.

    Be well.

You guys are funny. They have that in every classroom in the Harlandale school system in case of a lock down. Yes it has come to that. The schools have food as well (crackers) to sustain students for a couple of weeks incase of a nation weather emergency.

When I worked new construction (painting) in a rural area . everyone new if you saw a paint bucket or spackle bucket sitting out in the woods, Leave it alone and never ever open it.
