Took the daughter unit out there today. Had a good time, aside from the heat.

The Girl did very well for a first timer. Rented a Ruger .22 for her. After reviewing the forms in the office, and some firing line reinforcement, she had very good safety habits.

My only complaint is that it's in Lockhart.

That, and I really need practice.

I enjoy the easy drive without city traffic to go shoot(a plus if you live south). Great staff, gun rentals, cold affordable drinks(non-alcohol) starting@$1, good assortment of targets($1), decent sun cover. Go first half of the day during week; you practically have the whole range to use. On weekends, go early, plenty of lanes & friendly/knowledgable shooters. The huge range dogs are friendlier than alot of people. Outdoor ranges rock, except in 99 degree + temps. I would like to see ROs more often on ranges due to increase of people with very little gun sense & understanding of gun/range terms. Overall, a very good place to shoot plus as said before, a great way to treat yourself & discover some of the best TX bbq in Lockhart. Get out of the city & discover some of TX. Yall will truly enjoy the experience.

Hey, you have at least 4 bbq places in Lockhart, if that doesn't work, drive a little farther to Luling & try City Market. Nothing wrong going on a bbq quest; you know you won't leave with an empty belly (make sure the place is open that day & time).
