I'm currently work on it.
There's no way I'd survive living that close to town. I'm in the middle of suburban hell and even this is too close.
It wasn't that bad 25 years ago when I bought it. It's actually a decent location to get around or out of Houston.
Welcome to the forum.
I've never lived inside the loop, but I did grow up just off I-10 East near Westmont (North Shore). I remember sleeping with the windows open and hearing the whine of the big rigs going down the highway late at night. Now I live near 225 and 146 and it's just as loud. Lot's of crotch rockets tearing it up! The truck traffic is endless. I have to sleep with a fan in winter and I have a window unit I fire up at night in the summer for the noise and to make it frosty while I sleep.
I'm social, but I hate crowds, and I'm not tolerant of stupidity. Needless to say, I head to the woods often. I can go weeks on end without seeing anyone if I don't go to town. Just the way I like it.
For many years, I've considered moving into Sheila Jackson Lee's district.
The district she represents, or the district where she lives?
never lived inside the loop . I lived near westhiemer and fountainview. I moved out west 20 years ago . grand parkway and FM 1093 . Now it is getting too crowded out here.
Just north of the north loop. Mostly thieves are the issue though often complaints of gunfire close.

If I were to live inside the loop, it would be in a high-rise with a full-time staff on the ground floor to keep the street away from me.
