The government spends a lot of time - and our tax money - saving us from things we don't need to be saved from. Low flush toilets that you have to flush several times to make them work, gas cans that don't work, "energy efficient" dryers that leave the clothes wet so you have to run extra cycles, fluorescent light bulbs that cause more problems than the lights they replace, etc.

Killing owls to "save" owls. Hurts my head to think about it.
