I frankly doubt that the current administration would dream of taking direct action against Iran. They've put way too much effort (both this administration and the Obama clusterfuck before it) into trying to play nice and be friends with the Iranian government.

The Navy shot down some Iranian missiles that were on their way to Israel. So did the Jordanian Army. That's not a direct action against Iran, though. I will be flatly amazed if anyone but Israel is dropping American-made ordnance on Iran at any point soon.
