Good riddance. Another one bites the dust.

    Next…

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and a bodyguard were zapped in Tehran evidently by a precision missile strike, but the top Hamas leader in Gaza is Yahya Sinwar. He's the guy behind October 7, and he remains alive.

However, the day before Haniyeh was killed, the IDF (purportedly) also took out Fuad Shukr, the Hezbollah commander responsible for the recent playground bombing. This piece of work had been on the U.S. wanted list since 1983 in relation to the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut.

Better than doing nothing but offer words...which seems to be the only approach the Biden/Harris administration has shown when dealing with terrorists and kinetic conflict around the globe. Well, that and forking out massive sums of taxpayer money--additional debt, actually--to foreign governments with minimal accountability or audits about how those funds are used.

That comprises two reasons (will/intent and money) why the recent independent committee appointed by Congress found that the U.S. is at its least-prepared to deal with a major conflict in over 35 years. The the 100-page report actually said, "The nation was last prepared for such a fight during the Cold War, which ended 35 years ago. It is not prepared today."

Not good. Not good at all.

The big thing that's only barely been mentioned is that Israel took Haniyeh out with an airstrike...in Tehran. This could definitely lead to some serious shit going down. Not that Iran is anywhere near as powerful as they think they are, but this could be very messy in the short term and could drag other countries in. Israel is about to be even busier than they've been for the past few months.

Israel would probably be best off knocking the crap out of Iran now in a first strike. Hard enough to discourage Iran. Otherwise they will be in a defensive stance, waiting mode.

That's a 900 mile minimum one way trip. Add a couple miles for the air launced missile. And not radar detected? Across 4 countries. Wow.
Iran is not an Arab country, creates numerous problems for the Arabs, and is generally in disfavor with most every other country in the region.
As a result, Israel has numerous tacit agreements with ’neighbors’ applying “The enemy of my enemy is my friend“ doctrine. They also provide significant intelligence to semi-friendly neighbors.

SWAG: I’ll make a bet that Israel worked with one of 2 eastern neighbors to have their air defense systems undergo maintenance during a small time window, giving plausible deniability to the neighbor, and a safe mission corridor.

May not have been a missile? Using the report as misdirection to cover a local asset?

    Haven't seen much detail.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran by hidden explosive device: report

Bomb was planted inside Haniyeh’s guesthouse room around 2 months ago, report claims

    https://www.foxnews.com/world/hamas...-killed-tehran-hidden-explosive-device-report

Three Iranian officials separately told The New York Times that the security breach that allowed the explosive device to find its way into the compound where Haniyeh was residing – which is used by the Guards for secret meetings and housing prominent guests – is a massive embarrassment to the military agency.
