From someone living in a state (Nevada) that allows OC, I can give you examples of LEOs sometimes being dicks. Some "confrontations" have been on Las Vegas Boulevard South (the Strip) where all the major casinos are located. Those were resolved with letters to then sheriff Gillespie and he straightened the troops out. A major band of LEO dicks have been in North Las Vegas and Boulder City. Their respective police departments hassled those who open carried in their cities, stating that their city laws trumped state law, for about 4 years until we got rid of the pussy governor, Guinn. Then the matter was resolved with a few more "incidents" added to the legal wrangling.
I have no doubts that if the OC bill in Texas becomes law, ya'll will see plenty of instances like we had in North Las Vegas and Boulder City .... and those instances will, most likely, end up in some court somewhere. You will have the hard core "NO ONE is going to open carry in my town" types of LEOs but they'll end up, after lawsuits, following the open carry law.
Ill sell all my shirts
Bare chested Open Carry??????
But seriously, it won't change what I do in any way.
I use OWB holster now and square tail shirts. If OC passes ill probably do the same, just leave the shirt unbuttoned. At least I will have the option to OC, although my only likely change might be going to an OWB holster, even though I will 99% of the time
still be covering with my square bottom shirts.
Raining on the parade but you have a point.I suspect that more businesses will post 30.06.
In Mississipi when open carry was clarified( it was always legal) no gun signs sprouted up like mushrooms all over. ( MS only requires a gunbuster sign)
I suspect the same will happen here( not gunbuster signs but more 30.06 signs)
'zactly right. I hate schlepping up hills with a gun digging for gold. I'd much rather have that thang outside than in when doing things that require a range of movement.I think for most it will just be s switch to "relaxed carry" or "comfortable carry".
I think this is an overrated fear. Most bad guys are opportunistic cowards preying on the weak. We KNOW they pick spots where guns are restricted. They see someone carrying in a public park I'd bet money their thought will not be "take him out first" but rather - "I'd rather not take on folks with guns".I don't like the idea of advertising, no reason to be the first target from a bad guy. I do like the idea of not getting nailed for an accidental peek, or needed adjustment in public.

Other than that I'd be just as happy not to worry about inadvertent showing getting me in potential hot water. These Austin cops are problematic in my experience when it comes to firearms - thanks to Ass-evedo.
