well..............I made a few purchases yesterday on a coupla knives that caught my eye. Neither are high dollar knives, but they are the style/size that I was looking for (I think:banghead:). Figured I'd try em out and see how I like carrying them.

1st one is a Schrade Tanto Fixed Blade Knife Black G-10 (4.5" Black Plain) Price: $27.95 Overall Length:9.125"
    BladeLength:4.50"
    Blade Material:8Cr13MoV
    schrade-schf33-thumb.jpg
    schrade-schf33-sheath-thumb.jpg

2nd one is a Cold Steel Mini Tac Tanto Neck Knife G-10 (3.75" Bead Blast Serr) Price: $32.95 Overall Length:6.75"
    Blade Length:3.75"
    Blade Material:AUS-8A

Figured I'd try these two out, and see how I like em. Because of the lower prices, if I didn't like em, I wouldn't be too pissed off that a bunch of $$$ was wasted(rather than a high priced one). If I like one or the other, I then might look into a better quality knife. But who knows, I might just like em & stick with one or the other...................maybe both. Also picked up one of them Boker Kalashnikov Dagger Automatic Knives.

Nice. I love knives. I picked up one of the Kalashinikov's too - like it so far - other than the left pinky. I got a set of kitchen knives - Henckels - for a wedding present. 27 years later, they slice through a tomato like butter. Why don't people keep their knives sharp?

BPG keep that front portion of the schrade razor sharp or it may stick when stabbing through skin due to the blade shape.

Just my experience from tons of deer/hog cleaning. I dont shank people all that often.

I was kinda thinking that........that one has a little more of a "rounded" angle to it. I'm gonna need to get a good set of sharpening stones & brush up on sharpening the Tanto blades.

Good to know you aint in the bidness of shanking :green:

I carry a small, custom fixed blade in a kydex scabbard. Will take a pic for you.

You know it's against SA city ordnance to carry a locking folder?

HB 905 goes into effect on September 1st that voids any knife laws made by municipalities that are more strict than state law.

So in 2 days, they'll be legal.

hey y'all, what web sight do y'all use that typically has the best prices on knives? Thanks in advance for any help....

I've got a guy. He does all the work for me. Knows what I like. And randomly calls me up with a deal.

I browse knifecenter for low end production stuff.
Think a more serious hobbyist. Where flipping something is legal.
