In my actual experiences, armed home invasions are usually late at night when one is asleep and not heavily armed.

Luckily, my two experiences turned out to be relatively minor, and both felon-perps were arrested same night by a combo of Police & Deputies.

We keep a large dog, two G19’s, a PCC, & an 870 Tactical in room, with good flashlights.

Some 16 years back, two Houston neighbors were murdered by home invaders armed with knives. That terrible incident made me prepare better.

External plainly visible “crime camera recorders’’ don’t seem to provide any deterrent.

One other thing, slightly off-topic, is this: If in a multilevel home, make sure that every bedroom has a window fire escape, like a deployable chain ladder. Also keep cellphones within arms reach.
