How is Hicksville?

Looking to go shooting at Hicksville on friday Oct 12. How is the range there currently?

The range is doin pretty good. They've recently made some upgrades. They put in some new tables, new canopies, new rifle lanes and a shotgun bay. I'm thinkin about goin tmorrow, so maybe I'll see ya there. When are you thinkin about swingin by?

Ok, we'll see....I usually leave here around 11ish and then it's about a 30 min drive for me. I missed that last part about the slugs....i'm 99% sure you're gonna be good to go with them. He's got a pretty nice berm and as long as you're keeping your shots in the berm, you should be good. You'll love the shotgun bay he's got setup. You can run it with pistols as well

I can't believe I actually voluntarily skipped the range that weekend. The one weekend I didn't go just cause I didn't feel like it and you guys show up and blow shit up. Damn! Yea, I ain't missing round two for NOTHIN!

This reminds me of my days at Browns Camp in Tillamook State Forest in Oregon. A bunch of us would get together and shoot stuff and blow it up. Some would bring BMG rifles, old military rifles (me ) tannerite, the whole 9 yds.

Yeah they keep shuttin that main pit there down alot for quarrying so I end up having to go to Memaloose Rd close to Mt Hood State Forest.

Which way do you go that takes an hour and a half? I live on stan shleuter by 190. According to my gps if go through cove and up 116 to gatesville it a 50 minute drive. I haven't been to Hicksville yet but will be there on the 20th. I know it takes me a little less than 30 mins to get to gatesville depending on traffic.

It takes me 30-45 min coming from cove depending on traffic and which route I take. I can see it taking an easy hour from killeen, but the extra 30 min? I guess depends on traffic and how much bs you gotta go through before you hit the highway.

hahaha Its a little over an hour on my GPS as well. I was usin the info from google maps at first. I may stop at academy to get an improved cyl choke for my maverick 88 so I can shoot slugs out of it.
