I never would have thought it would be this bad, those things went new for $65 , 20 years ago.

That SKS looked almost new, if a Californian bought it that is one of the few "legal" guns they can own. I paid $350 for one last year. Great guns too. Wouldn't pay $1,300 though. But people with the $$$ don't care about price.Californians will pay anything. Its sad.
I sold one on here 3 weeks ago for $300. It being legal in CA was my assumption for the high price. That SKS looked almost new, if a Californian bought it that is one of the few "legal" guns they can own. I paid $350 for one last year. Wish I would have seen that ! I'd love one.I sold one on here 3 weeks ago for $300. It being legal in CA was my assumption for the high price.
It didn't last long.Wish I would have seen that ! I'd love one.
When things stabilize to somewhat normal again, I'm curious as to how many gun owners might end up getting into reloading.
You mean after more ammo is available, and less expensive?
If I had to guess, not many. As Cam said, ammo will be available again. I may or may not keep loading 9mm but I'll keep loading everything else. When things stabilize to somewhat normal again, I'm curious as to how many gun owners might end up getting into reloading.
Either, or both.

I will be sure to keep a healthy supply of primers on hand.
Small percentage. It’s another hobby, expensive to get into, technical, with some mystique behind it. Even at $0.50/rd differential, it’ll take 2000 rounds just to recoup the price and most people just don’t see themselves ever shooting that much in a lifetime.
I already reload 9mm, .40 and .45. I think about .223 but trimming cases and all that hoopla just seems to much like WORK.
If I did, i'd sell my 650 and buy a second 1050 just for .223. One word of warning, never buy a 1050, it's like flying first class....it will just ruin you for anything else.
A lot of people don't realize how much they shoot. When I worked at the Walmart sporting goods, half my customers were regulars. And spent nearly a month what it would cost them in equipment to start with a single stage. And that is just what they spent there. A few months and the gear is paid for. For the guy that just hunts and goes through a box every 2 or 3 years, it would be a waste. Halfway serious shooters would save money or shoot a lot more for the same money.Small percentage.
