Down the road from our place they put in a massive solar farm a couple of years ago. Started, stopped (lawsuit) restarted and now about completely finished.
Only thing it seemed to bother was the hogs. They pretty much disappeared.
occasionally one or two will come across a camera but nothing like they used to be. Still plenty of deer, coyotes and no dove.

My first and favorite hog. Taken from a tree stand at 25 yards with a flashlight and red dot optic after dark. My neighbor had warned me of the dangers of "not dead hogs" and insisted I call him before I got out of the stand. So I did, LOL. He showed up in about 15 minutes, told me the hog was very dead and I could come down. Then he spent time telling me about zombie hogs. We didn't have a scale and I didn't know to tape him. I weighed 240 back then and we figured he was a good bit bigger than me.

Nearly 2065 hog kills later, still after them.

    i’ve got the backwards problem.

I own 2 swamps about 70 miles East of Port Arthur, and have never seen a hog track on either. There are tons of hogs on all four sides of both. A guy up the same bayou killed a 575# sow a couple years back.

My places have squirrels, coons, a few deer, & beaucoup copperheads; but no hogs.

Is there any way to attract feral hogs besides deer feeders ? Deer feeders also attract neighbor kids.

Unable to get into either with one of our JEEPS or 4WD trucks.

Does anyone know why the USA was suddenly over-run with feral hogs??

I spent much of life outdoors, & never saw a hog until a few years ago.

Now they are all over; in urban Dallas, across the Florida pine forests, destroying habitat in Louisiana game preserves, even out in West Tecas.

Why the sudden flood of hogs ?

Cortez turned them loose in the 1500s.
They have always been here, just seeing more in the last 30 years due to more development of what was farmland into neighborhoods.

That and developers chopping up large plots into smaller ones. More landowners means more hunting means more feeders. Hogs are opportunistic and eat anything.
