Rode all over that part of the country last fall. Not a bad road in the area. Median to Leakey and all points in between. Particularly liked the road from Kerrville to Median; Hwy 16??? Wherever you wind up look out for deer.

I haven't been through there in a very long time, but a nice road is Ranch road 12, coming out of San Marcos headed toward Blanco. If I recall correctly Ranch Rd. 12 turns right (going to Wimberley), but you want to go straight. I believe it turns into FM 32 (not sure). That will take you through a area called the Devil's Backbone. Pretty nice drive.

Get great pie in Medina; at the apple orchard. Watch close or you'll miss it.
If I remember right, it is on left as you just get into town heading south on 16.

Thanks for the feedback. Really looking forward to the ride. We do The Smokies every year and this is so much closer. I had heard about the apple pie and turnovers in Medina but did not know where.

There are too many to list, but go to the below website & click on Texas. Then click on Hill Country. It takes a second to load, but then you can click on the roads off to the right & they will highlight on the map.

It's a list of some of the better motorcycle roads in the US, broken down by state.
