    Upon seeing my power point on taking apart an m16 bolt, my BCIS professor, who entered as an officer in the marines, said "it was called the AR, meaning Automatic Rifle". I didn't correct him.

    And if the AR is as weak as y'all make it seem, I wish i kept my com-bloc POS.

    Nah, it's not "weak". It was designed for the military market, and it's more than powerful enough for that.

    Let's look at it this way: The Soviets were so impressed with the performance of the 5.56 in Vietnam that they copied it. The AK-74 went to 5.45 for a reason. Check the ballistics on it sometime - almost identical to 5.56.

    But the point is, none of those are "high powered". The 7.62x39mm is about 20% less powerful than the .30-30. These are all "intermediate". They fall between "real" rifle cartridges (like .30-06, .308, 7.62x54R, etc) and handgun cartridges.
