One time we had to destroy a bunch of CDs, but no one could find the protocol to do so. I convinced my supervisor that the most efficient way to destroy them was to microwave them. That was fun. I tossed them in the "non-paper" bin that Iron Mountain picked up so they got shredded off site as well.
I used to love my on-site CD shredder. It worked a bit like a sausage grinder. Feed it a CD, crank the handle, and little bits of silvery plastic flowed out the bottom. Beautiful!

He's just too organized. The guy brought his own rifle rack, fer goodness sake!
And everybody needs a look at all that great stuff.
Look...and paw through.
Some folks, on the other hand, show up just to make us all feel inferior. I don't know whether I have greater style envy or greater beard envy.
Naturally, there's a little prep time.
Then some folks get down to shooting. Or entertaining the dog, whichever is applicable.
And other folks get down to missing. (It's just well-deserved payback, though I'm not sure if it's payback for messing up the flow of my photo essay or the injuries inflicted by that insane pepperbox pistol of yours!)

Before lunch, the dueling tree was fun to watch. My semiauto pistol only comes with 5-round magazines, so I demurred. I wasn't the only one. There was always a good audience watching from cover.
Or watching from a little closer.
Practice time flew by.
Then people got serious.
And some got careless. Leave it to an RSO (me) to walk forward of the firing line during the shooting.

Lunch was great. I actually got very little. I made the mistake of putting my plate on my chair. 30 seconds later, one of the dogs had eaten most of it and smeared the rest all over the chair.
The line wasn't bad at all.
As usual, most people found a place to sit.
Other folks proved adept at the classic cocktail party strategy of eating, standing, and talking all at the same time.
Some managed to show off their God-given grace and good manners for the camera. (Yes, she's such a good sport she actually volunteered to pose like that. Props to 'er.)
To cap it all off, we were constantly serenaded by a group of entertainers who somehow could not figure out what "Shut the bloody hell up!" means. What dumbasses!

An impartial party must be employed to draw numbers, of course.
Many prizes were available.
This seemed to generate quite a bit of interest.
This was particularly true amongst those who needed to make selections.
There was even a bit of follow-on commerce though, as an old Luddite, I can't pretend to know what was happening.

As the day wound down, there was a group photo where everyone showed perfect muzzle discipline.
Then everybody broke ranks and continued with the perfect muzzle discipline, of course.
Eventually everybody left, leaving the range to the true owners of the place.
