Well, after alot of research, and asking questions, and reading reviews and a few recomendations form folks on this forum, i am finally getting a 9mm Hipoint 995 carbine.
from the picture on gunsamerica, it looks liek the stock it has isnt the standard hipoint stock, and it isnt the ATI stock...

    check it out

so that looks like a plus.

i didnt know that there was another stock available (anybody know the stroy on that stock? i am kindof curious...)

anyway, i go pick it up next week, and hopefully i can get you guys a range report soon after.

i had to tell somebody! and you guys seem to care ;)

Bought the TS model a couple of months ago. Tons of fun to shoot and plenty accurate at 50 yds. Have only shot reloaded 115 gr FMJ's through it but no problems with feeding or ejection. Kinda a pain to strip and clean but other than that no issues at all. Have fun.

That is the new model for 2009, I have an older model in 40 cal, accurate,
reliable and fun. I understand they will soon have one in 45acp.

From what I hear, they're solid and reliable.

I just wish that someone made an inexpensive carbine that used Glock magazines (other than Kel-Tec) - or that had a greater magazine capacity than the Hi-Point. Proprietary 10rd single-stack just doesn't do it for me.

I've heard mixed opinions on the Sub-2000 - some people love them, some people have to return them for warranty work more than once. To me, they feel like cheap plastic crap and look even worse. The couple of times I've handled one at a gun show, the build quality felt pretty marginal - like you knew the pivot was going to break sooner or later under normal conditions.

The stock is also short enough to induce claustrophobia (doesn't help that I'm 6'4" and have long-ish arms), which is plenty enough for me not to buy one.

The 45 carbine should be out by next year Jan or Feb. They are in the process now of manufacturing them as well as the new 40 cal carbine stock like the 995. Unfortunatly only Hi Point mags will fit Hi Point weapons. Sorry.

    I FINALLY GOT IT!
    Hooray!

If anyone followed the rants and raves section - youll know how much crap i had to go through to get this rifle.
Well so far i think it was totally worth it.
i havent gotten it to the range but i have to say this is one sweet feeling gun. It has a picatinny mount directly under the barrel, one underneath the forend of the stock, and a flatop rail for optics if ya want. personally im a fan of getting in clsoe and using irons, and the sight picture ont his rifle is super easy to acquire. sight picture looks liek an mp5's.
hooded from sight and the aperture sight in the rear.
a coupkle fop dry fries showed the trigger to be a tad ruogh, but a little fiddling with it will probably fix that, that is if it doesnt work itself out in a couple hundred rounds.

this weekend ill be posting some pics, (hopefully) and some range data.

i will test it at 25 50 and 100 yards.
ofhanded fromt he bench and maybe even some crouching. (i dont know how the ROs at dietz feel about that, i have never seen anyone else int hat firing position)

if i can get good enough groups, im thinking i might take it for a little deer hunting. :) a well placed 9mm is more than enough for some texas whitetail.

well thats my plan. and i am super excited about ths gun.
it handles well, the cheekpeice lined up perfectly with my face.

i wont have to do much to this gun to get it to 'tacticool' status :)
over all the pre-range impression is
