I love the FNX. I'd like to try the FNS someday but I prefer hammer fired guns.

I do too... I bought the FNS first & bought the FNX afterwards. I like the FNX a lot better, not only due to the hammer over striker, but the safety on it is bigger and easier to hit.

The frustrating thing though, is that the magazines are not interchangeable between the 2.

    Cross posted.

Not exactly 100 years old yet, but either from 1918 or 1923. Colt Black Army 1911. Put a few mags through it. Still shoots reliably. Surprisingly not as much muzzle flip as I recall my springfield GI 1911 having.

Belongs to a friend. Grips not original. Lanyard loop removed, but my friend still has it in case he ever decides to put it back on.

That is a beautiful firearm Jakash, your friend is a very lucky fella. As far as that goes I haven't seen an ugly gun yet in all the pics posted. Looks like we have a lot of very lucky members here.

Picked up an SR1911 a couple weeks ago and decided that I wanted a little more aggressive grips for it. I just threw some black Hogue G10 Magrips in the Piranha pattern on them with stainless grip screws. It feels great, the magwell works well, and I'm really liking the black on stainless look. I'm still waiting on an ambidextrous safety so I'm not quite done changing things up yet, but I'm happy with the gun for now.

Pretty good, though I can't say I have a whole lot of experience with 1911s to base that on. I'll have to steal some nicer 1911s and compare at some point.

Looks awesome. Good choice on grips.
