Over the weekend I purchased a Secure-it handgun storage safe for the car. Last year when I bought my new Ford, it did not include a locking glove box. Since then I have always felt a little uncomfortable leaving a gun in the car on the rare occasion I could not take my snubbie with me. While nothing is perfect, I just hope that it make my vehicle a less attractive target.

I thought about a mount in the trunk system but decided to go with an under the seat system. Purely for convenience.

Now for the surprise. I found it on Amazon.com!

What stops a BG from taking the entire safe out of the car? Is it bolted to the frame or something?

It's secured by a steel cable. I bought one (keyed) at Cabela's. Loop the cable through part of the seat. No, it's not Ft Knox. But it will help
stop a smash and grab thief from easily walking away with your gun.

According to the web site, it can be bolted down in the trunk as well. I plan to use it as an under the seat box cabled to the seat frame. Like I said, not perfect but it should be a less attractive target.
