I totally failed at not posting this earlier.
The Gravick Ranch in San Isidro, TX (Starr County/RGV) hosts a shooting match each year. It is a 1911 only match and this year it was scored using the USPSA scoring system and equipment rules.
Held yesterday, April 11, 2015, there were some 68 shooters signed up and 65 who shot. A few were eliminated due to equipment violations. Though, truth be told, they were little danger to anyone vying for a top space in any of the "Divisions" Gravick Ranch recognizes a LE, Military, Civilian, Junior, Lady, and Doctor Division. Any current of former Military service member can shoot Mil, any current or former LE can shoot LE. For the rest there are the Civilian, Lady and Junior Divisions. Medical Doctors get their own Division as well.
They built 8 stages with a 125 round count. But, the rains flooded out two bays eliminating two stages.
Please throw this match into your list of matches to consider. They gave away 9 firearms between the Division winners and random draw prize table, including a Dan Wesson 1911 and Wilson Combat 1911.
