I think the name of the place is South Coast Customs and they do a show called Pimp my gun!

Sorry, couldn't resist. Not sure where to get that done.

Not stupid or dumb. However you might investigate looking into gold plating it yourself. Home kits are widely available and super easy to use. You could practice on your cars license plate cover or something first so you gain the confidence to tackle the gun part.

The reason I want to gold plate my gun is just to make it look exotic and so it can be diff. From all the others I plan on engraving my last name on it and have red, yellow, qnd maybe white gold on several areas on the gun.

    destroyer, no problem.

My dad did some of this type of plating in the 70's and it looked good. Some of the stuff is just like new. Not going to give you a real durable finish, it's for decoration.

I am also interested in pictures when you start on the project.

gold plating can be done at home, like said above. i wouldnt do it on a first run, you might get crustiness and lumping. you could also just get it anodized or painted a goldish color.
