My brother and I did this to our lawnmower when we were little. We ran out of gas and decided that gas was clear and water was clear so we could use water. So we filled up the tank on the lawn mower with water and, of course, it would not start. My dad got really mad but he got a lot of mileage out of it by reminding us regularly. That was about '65 and he used it until about '08 or '09.
A truer meme does not exist.
My kids parents had one of these…Well, my kids' parents had this exact same alarm clock.
I still prefer that type!
It was an April Fool’s joke.A solution in search of a problem
Ha! I didn’t take it seriously. It was an April Fool’s joke.
When I was 21, I heard that joke from an 18 year old coed. Shocked the hell out of me - but I smiled.

I still have one of those, exactly... keeps great time, if I remember to wind it... I keep it just in case, like I keep a winding pocket watch just in case...
Power failures.Just in case of what?
Just in case the electricity goes off and doesn't comes back on... Yes, I think time would still matter then. Yes, batteries will last a long time, and that's why I also have a Timex in a faraday box.Just in case of what?
