Seem to be more transmission failures too.
    Well,

    They put an 87 speed "aut-o-matic" transmission...in a 1/2 ton pick up.

With a 3-3/4" long bed (so as to hold 1/2 roll of toilet paper)

Got plenty of "blewteef", "wiffle/waffle", "yuppy BS" brakes

Perfect for soccer moms or "kevins"....;& other yuppys that never worked...

To be fair there were a lot of transmission failures in older vehicles too, but they were significantly easier to fix. Rebuilding a TH-400 or an AOD can be done by almost anyone, without many specialty tools.
First truck was a 90 ranger, I had 3 rebuilds over the years I owned it. First one I watch, second I helped, third I did with someone checking on me. Was pretty easy all things considered. Can’t imagine trying to pull and rebuild one of these modern “sealed for lifetime” transmissions. I don’t even know if they have parts for sale. Nothing as easy as the old top loaders though.

The Dodge 10-speeds are reportedly dealer-only; they supposedly won't even sell wear parts or support outside repairs.

TH350/400, 4L60/65E were pretty solid and fairly simple to rebuild. Just put a new valve body and TCC valve in a 4l60e for my old truck.
    C 6 & 727?

If fluid was changed once in a while...?? Most likely outlast the rust.

If a rebuild were to be needed ? (from racing or NOT changing the blame FLUID??

    Fairly straight forward...
