“Done correctly “is becoming a lost art. Had a large argument with my boss why every office in Houston was down. He assured me it was redundant routes. Well one circuit was att the other was mci-who leased fiber from att. The big yellow fiber finder cared not about diverse routes.

I hear ya'. I would also use multiple telecomm carriers each with unique routes to the the building(s). It's not that difficult to learn the physical route each circuit utilizes and even then those routes have diverse logical routes within each carriers domain. Some folks don't learn until they get bit. Some have to get bit multiple times. Some, it seems, never learn.

Years ago I recall Sprint set up a hub in KS right on the border with MO. Their electric inputs came from 2 separate grids as a result. Pretty good redundancy.
