For years my brother and I would wake up early go outside in our pajamas to push my dad's Honda CVCC out of our garage down the driveway and sometimes down the road to get it started.
I remember always being worried how he would get it started to drive home after work. One day I asked him. He told me he parked on a hill close to his work and pushed it himself. Went to work every day worked 12+ hrs. Truly a good man.

Great story. A lot of us grew up that way. My big brother had a 1937 Olds. We had to push it to start anytime we couldn't park it in a hill. The heater failed and my brother wouldn't fix it. So, my little brother and I would stand each on a running board and scrap the windows in the winter.

My old '98 Formula used to break starter housings. It had a built 13.1:1 compression motor, and the stock starter would struggle to turn it over if the battery wasn't at full charge. Occasionally the motor would kick back against the available torque of the motor, and that would be enough stress to snap the starter's cast aluminum housing. Once that happened, it was push start time. I finally fixed the starter issue by welding up a support bracket for the rear of the housing that prevented it from twisting and cracking.
