Bigger concern is that CD players will no longer be made.
I want a Mohican CD player. A bit spendy but the manufacturer, Hegel, stocked up on the right parts and bought plenty of spares. They promise they will be able to fix them when they fail for much longer than is normal in the industry.

Hegel has loaded up on parts for future production runs and for servicing existing units. It anticipates at least a 10-year spare-parts stock—including the Sanyo CD drive—and about 98 years (no kidding) on the laser pickups.

It came out quite a while ago and has already been discontinued but for the folks who have one or can find some new old stock, it seems like a good way to address the whole crappy-electronics-don't-last problem.
