Noise ordinance vary, but most counties do have something about daytime ordinances. Parker is where of it can be heard or felt 35 feet away you are breaking the law.

^ I have no problem with people blaring music. What I have a problem with is when said blasting causes damage to my property and health. "My rights end where the other guy's nose begins" and all that. I talked with a couple MSP and Bay City police officers, they confirmed that the city actually does have a law against this kind of crap in my area. If your "music" can be heard or felt within a certain distance (IIRC 12 yards/36 feet), you can be fined up to $500. Problem is (and I'm quoting one of the officers I talked to) "Almost no one wants to pull 'em over, because the driver is almost always a douchehammer."

But I gotta admit, it was hilarious watching a Camry literally shake itself to pieces at the mall a couple weeks back. Every panel and piece of glass on that car was visibly shaking, then suddenly both the front and rear bumpers drop off onto the pavement.

On the open road? I don't give a crap. Hell I'm one of them and at lights, neighborhoods, parking lots, I turn it down.

I have a neighbor who, nearly every night, plays music so loud I can hear it booming inside my home from a tenth of a mile away and this is with the TV turned up fairly loud. He used to keep it up until 5 or 6 AM then sleep off his drunk/high during the day and resume his crap again at night... sometimes every night for weeks at a time. He finally started shutting it down after midnight after I called the sheriff on him repeatedly. It still bothers me because I moved to this rural neighborhood largely for the peace and quiet but I don't call the sheriff if he shuts it down after midnight.

For me, the bass-holes piss me off. But I'm looking for a hearing aid company to invest in because in 10 years or less, the bass-holes are going to be nearly stone deaf and the sales of hearing aids will go through the roof!!

For proof, all one has to do is look at the 60s rock & roll stars. Many of them have hearing so FUBAR they have to wear hearing "enhancements."

I know there are a lot of electronics and amplifiers that are used in theses most annoying vehicles. My question is about the amplifiers used. Don't those things generate a lot of heat? If they do, how many of these folks have found their vehicles burnt to the ground the following day?

That only happens in the case of extremely incompetent installations such as not avoiding possible electrical shorts or using far too small gauge wire or not fusing properly. In other words... it COULD happen in about 9/10 installs.
