A SBS is a great way to get into NFA. While not as sexy as a machine-gun, can or even a SBR a simple Sawed off shotgun can easily cost as little as $100.00 plus paperwork.

Get your trust lined out with a lawyer...
Buy and Engrave a $200.00 Remington 870 or H&R partner break action.
When the paperwork clears grab a hack saw and cut that shotty down to 12"!
What you will have is a hell of a fun gun in a small package. Recoil is not that bad because velocity is a touch lower. Patern is tight at minute of man at 30yds. That's perfect for home defense. Probably best of all is the cost! You pay more for the tax stamp than you do the weapon.
Well there it is, my first post.

    Have you pondered A.O.W.s?

    $5.00 tax stamp

    No engraving.

Could be a shotgun, or many other things like a pen gun or a knife gun or a cane gun.

Same trust and a cool conversation piece.

Here is an A.O.W. (Any Other Weapon)

actually the AOW has a $200.00 making tax for an individual and a $5.00 transfer.

    Mike has made several SBS's.

the reason you would go with an SBS is that it allows you to put a stock on teh shotgun whereas an AOW doesn't. the stock.

Welcome mike. Great to see ya here.
