What a crock of shit. I'm so sick of the Federal government and all of its bullshit.
    ditto

At what point does Texas say " Too fucking bad, we're doing it anyways. "
    that would be nice

that option is just looking better and better

Good. Let's leverage this to attack NICS checks and ID requirement to buy guns.
that's a crackerjack of an idea!

Lets see if some lawmakers have the balls to apply this that way...
    you know better than that

Imagine you are in a boxing match and the rules say that you can't hit below the belt. But your opponent keeps kicking you in the balls, and the ref does nothing about it. Do you think you have a chance at winning getting kicked in the balls again and again? Or do you think maybe you should start to hit below the belt before you wind up on the mat holding your ballsack telling yourself you might have lost but at least you didn't cheat?

Libs will lie cheat steal, do ANYTHING, to get their way. The rules and the law is not for them to follow. It's to control you. They will break the law and get a pass. (see the new black panthers and voter intimidation, as well as putting a bounty on George Zimmerman, which is a 3rd degree felony in Florida).

What I'm saying is these people cover each other's asses when they do something wrong, and they have stacked the courts, the govt, the schools, the news media, the pop culture media, everything.

It's now to the point that they are willing to say with a straight face that having an ID (one you can get for FREE) is too hard for minorities to get. Even though you need and ID to get an apt, utilities, phone, cable, bank account, cash a check, beer, cigarettes, A JOB etc, etc. They have the courts so stacked that they can say ID is just too hard to get, with a straight face, and expect it's going to hold water. They are making the laws that let them win, and you lose.

You are going to get your ass kicked if you don't learn to how to "stoop" to their level.
    this guy gets it

    I'm voting for Ron.
Just a vote for obama is what that is. we need every vote for mitt we can get. i hate mitt, but he's our only chance this election

Or better yet, have ICE agents at every polling spot. With dogs and MP5's.

Yea, and they told us reconstruction only lasted a few years. Riiiiiiight.

It did. And then the former CSA spent three generations being a bunch of racist a**holes (which they referred to as 'Redemption'), resulting in things like the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act, aka Second Reconstruction.

I do wonder sometimes when, in the foreign policy arena, our leaders look to undertake nation building which involves forcing significant social change, they never look at the failure of Reconstruction as a cautionary tale.

At some point, some day, a state will stand up to the fed and say "if it's not in your enumerated powers, we ain't listening.
+1... We don't need to secede; just start ignoring their unjust mandates.

Right there is the part that most of ya'll have been ignoring - the Voting Rights Act. Which is why Voter ID laws were OK in Indiana, but not in Texas.
When laws are applied differently to different people, you have a break down in the rule of law. Also sort of ironic since this was supposedly in response to laws being applied unevenly.

Which is why Texas (with SC joining if the lower court rules on their law soon enough) needs to appeal directly to SCOTUS, requesting expedited hearing/ruling, due to the impending election. SCOTUS can move (relatively) quickly if they need to - IIRC, Bush v. Gore took just under a month.

Now, you could expect the current administration, led by head racialist Eric Holder, to fight it tooth and nail, due to the potential downstream effects - mainly things like the requirement for Federal approval of all legislative/Congressional redistricting in the effected states, along with things like requirements for minority set-aside districts (funny, Allen West managed to win in a district that's well over 2/3 white) - on other parts of the VRA

Interesting article - apparently, the career lawyers at DoJ recommended approval of the SC (and presumably TX) voter ID laws. Oh, and GA (another state subject to VRA requirements) already has a voter ID law - cleared by the DoJ under the Bush II administration.

Opposition to these laws isn't because the administration even necessarily thinks they'll win in court, or, presumably, that they think keeping these laws from going into effect will give them a chance to win TX or SC.

It's all about getting their political base fired up for November.
