I consider everyday carry to be essential tools/gear/clothing and a gun that you carry on your person everyday.

Not the stuff you wish you carried or the stuff in your car or even your 17 knives like the kids on YouTube. The point is you carry it everday. Mine is based off small things I might need in any number of emergencies.

So my set up is fairly simple.
First a good belt is essential if you're carrying on the waistband. I am of the opinion that it needs to be rigid and sturdy and of high quality. Generally this means you'll need to spend some money. My belt is made by Original SOE, it was $65 and is hands down the best belt I have ever owned. It locks in place and doesn't loosen.

Next is the pistol. Glock 19 with Trijicon HD night sights. In general the Glock sights are crap, they're plastic and not great at night. IWB Kydex holster I picked up off ebay for $30. Honestly it's not the best I've ever had. Warthog Gear is far superior and made in San Antonio. Also I now carry a back up mag, because mags will fail.

Next is a knife, you should always have a knife. It's a great tool and great for more than just cutting open boxes like a makeshift screwdriver or if you can trust it as a pry bar. Mine is a SOG Trident Tanto. It's been in my pocket everyday for about 3 years.

Cordage. It's not just a fashion statement, it's actually good to have around. Make a shelter, tie a mattress down, etc.

Multi tool. You will use it, how often does somebody need a screwdriver? Maybe not everyday but often.

Water, yeah I think it's needed. Water is good for you, plus the container could become useful in an emergency.

Not pictured are my keys with my Streamlight nano and magnesium stick.

A pen, cellphone and watch are not essential but useful.

So what's your EDC? What do you have and why.

This really isn't that outrageous of an EDC. Reasonable in my opinion.

That's a lot of stuff to carry around. This worked for me off-duty in Los Angeles. The cheap knife is used as a possible cutting instrument, not for fighting. If I'm thirsty I'll get a slurpy at a 7-11 for the ride home. I will admit that when I was working during the LA riots, I had a small backpack in my car with a spare .45, 10 mags, a sheath knife, boots (for walking home, if I had to), a couple of Mountain Dews (caffeine and sugar are good when you're tired), spare batteries for a "borrowed" city radio, small 1st aid kit and some tools I might need. Didn't need it, but it was nice to have. All the other coppers and firemen had something similar stashed in their cars.

Everyday Carry (pics & explanation)

It's really not that much-
Keys right front pocket
Phone, pen and knife left front pocket
Wallet right cheek
Multi tool left cheek
Gun right side
Mag left side

I think your pic makes it look like a lot more than it really is. I think you have a setup like I eventually want to have when I can afford it. Right now this is my stuff:

Lets start with the gun, a Glock 27 with pierce pinky extension on the mag. A holster that works fine for me, but I could always find a better one. A regular belt, keys, cell phone, wallet, and gum. I had a knife, but it was a cheap shit one that doesn't work anymore and I don't have the super tiny hex bit to open it up and fix it. (tried things other than hex bits, but nothing worked)

Re: Everyday Carry (pics & explanation)

GlockOwner-where'd you pick up that wallet? I'll be looking for a new one this Christmas and want to get a nice brown leather one without going all country.

So neither of you carry things you need throughout the day?

I don't see a problem with your edc, it looks like a lot but once its stowed it doesn't. I was just giving you a hard time.

That's cool it's hard to get back in the swing of things after a few days. You know it just took me a while to write it, so I'm kind of invested.

I'll admit...you hurt me...

Re: Everyday Carry (pics & explanation)

I don't want one with a sports logo on it, but if I can find one with just that type of leather, I'll be happy.
