JeepFiend,
The DA in Durham, NC stated this AM that the arrested criminals will be tried for several serious felonies, will likely be convicted & sentenced to long terms of confinement.
(IF he's correct, that will "put a damper on" future vandalism/rioting, as 99% of people don't want to spend several years in the NC DoC.)

I, unfortunately, must agree with you. When President Trump won the election in November, I felt our country had a new lease on life. I briefly had new hope that our country could be restored to the principles on which it was founded. After only slightly more than half a year, I again believe that is not to be. Washington is too full of politicians that are more concerned with losing their job than they are with losing a nation. Members of the party that nominated him are joining the Democrats and liberal media in piling on the President for what they believe to be mistakes he has made. When was the last time the Democratic leadership criticized Obama when he was President, or HRC when she was running for office. Please refresh my memory if you can remember an instance (as I said, I am getting old). All this gives the impression that the Republicans cannot govern, whether you believe they have legitimate concerns or not for dumping on the President. I fully fear the result will be the Democrats with their anti-American ideas will win back control of Congress in 2018 and continue flushing the principles of a country I deeply care for down the toilet. The Republican party has not shown the capability, or even the desire, to stop them. God bless America.
I'll believe it when I see it. I'll wager dollars to donuts that they are plea bargained to misdemeanors and sentenced to community service. It will be done without any fanfare and never even reported.
I don't like it either, but........What we need here is for some upstanding patriots to kick the ass of any rat bastard that is burning the American flag!
Fighting violence with swifter and stronger violence has always been the preferred method.I don't like it either, but........
So you think violence is called for to protest an activity that courts have ruled is protected free speech? I believe that is called anarchy and hate to see it expoused here as it is no better than the violent antifa tactics.
Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), was a decision by the Supreme Court of the United States that invalidated prohibitions on desecrating the American flag enforced in 48 of the 50 states. Justice William Brennan wrote for a five-justice majority in holding that the defendant Gregory Lee Johnson's act of flag burning was protected speech under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Johnson was represented by attorneys David D. Cole and William Kunstler.
TAZ,
I presume that you won't be HURT when the whole bunch of leftist thugs go to NC State prison for several years??

Except of course they are backed by the local, state, and federal government because you know, that whole Bill of Rights thing.Fighting violence with swifter and stronger violence has always been the preferred method.
I am not saying it is legal but it does work.
You can sit a sing Kumbaya while these asshats burn your community down. I will take a different approach.
Except of course they are backed by the local, state, and federal government because you know, that whole Bill of Rights thing.
I hope you are not referring to me.That's not what he was saying and you know it. He's advocating violence against those he disagrees with.
