I had a pyrenees/border collie mix that couldn't be held.
Had the fence charger inside the fence. He chewed the 120 volt cord off of it and left. Breaker never tripped.
Never came back. Neighbor about a mile away adopted him and left their gate open. He wouldn't leave as long as they left the gate open.
Later in life, I understand his resolve.

No doubt. After the first two times he got hit, for the rest of his life my rottie wouldn't go near a bare piece of electric fence wire

Plus one with my cocker. He got in it once and learned, I tangled with it more times than I care to admit. I'm not sure about bare wire either. LOL!!

No doubt on the resolve. Pyrenees are a special case though. Lol
Once watched one kill an entire pack of coyotes that were after his sheep

Well, If they lock me up, or try to take my dog, one of y'all might get one of the sweetest, smartest, hunting, family dogs there ever was. AKC field champion bred out of $40,000 stock. Not kidding. Her pup (the non-escape artist) is a brain-dead yo-yo, but she is very sweet too.
