    Dates That Destroyed America

The decision by Congress to socialize medicine in the US ranks among the most draconian, most egregious, most horrific actions ever taken by the central government in Washington, D.C. This bill rocks the principles of liberty and constitutional government to the core. It changes fundamental foundations; it repudiates historical principle.

Oh! The same flag may fly on our flagpoles, the same monuments may grace our landscape, and the same National Anthem may be sung during our public ceremonies, but it is not the same America. The Congress of the United States has now officially turned America into a socialist state.

On March 21, 2010, Congress passed, and on March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the dreaded national health care bill into law, and as such, these dates join a list of dates that have each inflicted unconstitutional, socialistic, and sometimes even tyrannical action against the States united and have, therefore, contributed to the destruction of a free America.

    April 9, 1865

This is the date when General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to U.S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. Regardless of where one comes down on the subject of the Civil War, one fact is undeniable: Abraham Lincoln seriously dismantled the Jeffersonian model of federalism in America. Ever since, virtually every battle that free men have fought for the principles of limited government, State sovereignty, etc., has stemmed directly from Lincoln's usurpation of power, which resulted in the subjugation and forced union of what used to be "Free and Independent States" (the Declaration of Independence). In fact, the philosophical battles being waged today regarding the recent health care debacle (and every other encroachment upon liberty and State power by the central government) have their roots in Lincoln's tyranny.

One worth pointing out here for those who don't take the time to read the article...

    October 22, 1968

This is the date when President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed the Gun Control Act of 1968. Before this Act, the 2nd Amendment was alive and well in the United States. The Gun Control Act of 1968 turned a right into a privilege and forever forced the American people to bow at the altar of government when seeking to arm themselves. Interestingly enough, this Gun Control Act mirrored Nazi Germany’s Gun Control Act of 1938. In fact, the Gun Control Act of 1968 is almost a verbatim copy of Hitler’s Gun Control Act of 1938.

Our Founding Fathers could never have imagined that governments within the “several States” would ever be allowed to deny the people’s right to keep and bear arms. In fact, it was the attempted confiscation of the firearms stored at Concord, Massachusetts, that triggered the War of Independence in 1775. That the people of Massachusetts would be denied their right to keep and bear arms, as they are today, could not have been foreseen–and would never have been tolerated–by America’s founders.

Yet, most of the hundreds of draconian gun control laws that have been inflicted upon the American people have all come about as a result of the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Baldwin is spot on. There are one or two more dates of infamy ( not meaning Pearl Harbor, either ) that a few will agree were the days that states rights died.

December 12, 2000...the day the United States Supreme Court selected a president that did not win the popular vote nor had secured the electoral vote. The nation has paid a high price in dollars and lives for that bit of neocon shenanigans.

September 11, 2001...the day the United States was attacked and the president did NOTHING. No orders, no comments, no assurances to a scared and angry nation...he just ran away and tried to hide.

March 19, 2002...president invents an excuse and invades Iraq and sends the United States to war without a declaration of war from the US Congress, in clear violation of the Constitution. No WMDs are found after 4,287 KIA and 30,182 wounded American military personnel.

September 19, 2008...Bush administration announces bailout plan to confront growing financial crisis. Republican Congress rubber-stamps the administration's demand for new powers to execute a plan that eventually cost taxpayers billions to buy toxic debt and bad mortgages.

January 22, 2009...Republicans blame Obama and Democrat Congress for their own failures and lack of leadership and begin obstructionist agenda.

Present time...conservatives blame Obama for everything...

The following is an exerpt from today's Libertarian newsletter:

As the 2010 election approaches, a lot of Republican politicians are trying to posture as government-cutters, and they often hold up Ronald Reagan as an example.

But although Reagan often talked about supporting smaller government, most Libertarians know that in practice he did exactly the opposite. For example:

    • Reagan boosted import tariffs and trade restrictions.
    • Reagan cut marginal income tax rates, but he also raised Social Security taxes.
    • Reagan increased farm subsidies.
    • Reagan sent the federal debt through the roof.
    • Federal spending under Reagan grew from $678 billion to $1.14 trillion.
    • Reagan set the record for the highest average spending as a percent of GDP over his administration. (Obama may beat him.)
Many people are complaining right now about unemployment under Barack Obama. In the first 18 months of Obama's presidency, unemployment has increased from 7.7 percent to 9.5 percent.

Did you know that during the first 18 months of Reagan's presidency, unemployment increased from 7.5 percent to 9.8 percent? That's even worse, but I don't hear a lot of Republicans mentioning it.

Many Republican politicians, operatives and talk show hosts like to talk positively about Reagan and try to portray him as delivering smaller government. They don't say that about George W. Bush. I presume that's to try and convince voters that Bush was bad in some ways, and we should all try to be more like Reagan.

My point is this: Republicans love to believe that their **** doesn't stink and they will believe just about any BS that a pundit spoon feeds them to buy in to the myth that neocons do no wrong. I've never seen so much finger pointing in my life.

We only blame Obama because everything is his fault.

Don't you believe everything you read? Presidents always get the blame... it's just the way it is.

My life was full of wants and desires when Clinton" Clinton's" was in office. Then Bush came along. My wants and desires suddenly became reality. By the end of GW's first term, I accomplished more and gained a lot. Didnt have to budget for food while GW was in office. I worked all the time to find myself in a better position in life.
Then came Obama!!! Everything changed! So far I still have all my stuff, but I was smart and didnt buy on credit. Obama is a disease that is eating away everything we have. He is the scum that threatens American Freedom. Obama and his crew of zombies are the worst thing that has ever happened to a man that wants to work to achieve what he desires!!!
His Government spending has NOT benefited me in the smallest way. Nothing Obama does will help the country. If he truley wants to help America, he would resign!!!

Frankly, anybody who cannot see the destruction that Brobama is doing to this country is just not even important enough for me to comment on. I don't care what side you reside on politically, Obama has done nothing but bring ruin and failure to everything he has touched. I have never been so disgusted with Washington in my 51 years on this earth...

2010 better forge ahead with some new leadership or we may never get a chance to right this ship.

I really wish one of these "O" lovers could explain how they can support a group as anti-gun and anti-freedom as that, but still want to post on here.

Well... CW is not an Obama puppet. Far from it. He's a moderate with opinions. I can deal with that. I think that's what America is all about. I'm with you on the actual Obama supporters... I haven't found one yet that can provide a decent Pro Obama argument other than bullshit lefty talking points and "blame Bush".

    That get's old.
