I currently own a CZ SP-01 Phantom. A fellow I work with owns the SP-01.
After looking at his SP-01, I think I may want one. Although I prefer the SP-01 Tactical since it comes with night sights and a decocker not a manual safety.
I have shot my SP-01 Phantom, but not the full metal SP-01.
I have many CZs. A green P-07, a black P-07, two black P-01s, an FDE P-10c, and a 75B. What can I say, I like the way they fit my hand and how well I can shoot them.
I am looking for personal insight into what would make the SP-01 better than the SP-01 Phantom, or vice versus.
Side note: If I buy the SP-01 Tactical, I will probably sell my Phantom if anyone shows an interest.

I have the SP-01 Tactical Urban Gray. I shoot it suppressed. I like it. I like the controls & the trigger. It balances fine suppressed. I don't have any other CZs to compare it to.

The biggest difference will be the weight. The tactical is heavy but I like that.

I am aware of the weight difference. I dislike suppressor guns.
I am curious about the difference in triggers between the two.
I am a high end 1911 guy, so trigger pull is important to me.
The SP-01 will be a range gun, not a home protection firearm.

I have a bunch of CZ's as well. To my unscientific testing (shooting them at the range) the safety models have a slightly smooth double action. That is really the only difference I have noticed.

I have owned maybe 9 or 10 P-01s since my first experience with one in the early 90's. Even had three of the Limited Run" OD green ones CZ made during the early years. I didn't have them all at one time, though.
It seems that on numerous range trips, I would meet other shooter and we would strike up a conversation. Sooner or later it would get around to what each of us were shooting. On more than one occasion someone would ask to shoot the P-01 I brought. At least four times the guy would ask me if I would sell my P-01.
I ain't married to any of my firearms, so I would give him a price. They would either leave and go get the money, or we would arrange a time and a place for the transfer and meet later on.
The P-01 is a really great compact handgun. People just seem to fall in love with them at soon as they pick one up.
This is bad because the retail price has gone way up, and availability has gone the other way.

If you ever want to shoot the tactical suppressed just ask. I run my hybrid46 with mine

Can't tell much difference in triggers between the two (in mine at least), aside from the weight the only thing else I noticed is that the SP-01 tactical fits the hand better.
If you're just looking for a better trigger you could have CGW work their magic on your Phantom.
Have a SP-01 compact I plan on sending to them soon.

Well, I ordered the SP-01 (not the Tactical) this morning.
I found a web vendor named iammo.com that had it for $529.
Second day air was $12.50. FFL fee on this end is $30. Grand total will be $571.50.

The phantom and tactical have the same trigger.
