Yeah. Over an hour seems like quite a while, but being on an isolated island after you scurried probably 75% or more of the local forces off somewhere else, and you're on an island, with a police force probably not as well prepared as ours. All kinds of other reasons. Not going to fault the police without knowing, but OP intent stands no matter what.......don't rely on somebody else to keep you and yours safe!
Kind of reminds me of that every now and then I say to myself, I'll just be in and out quick - don't need to carry in here for this. I need to be prepared always. I'd hate to be sitting in a place hidden in the back behind some aisle or under some booth thinking. Damnit I'm a dumb jackass cause my gun is in my truck doing me no good.
