    Yes, I understood the reference, I just don't see a higher probability that the disconnect on myTtaurus will somehow lock itself (when I haven't had the key for it in a couple years0 than than a glock or any other firearm suffering a mechanical failure.

    It's just another moving part that can move. I know it's highly likely that it wouldn't but Murphy is a tricky mofo.

    I have not tried, since the only Taurus in the family is a 5 hour drive away, but it ought be be able to be taken off. The ones' I have seen are just screws that pop up and lock the hammer in place. Pretty sure you can figure out how they installed in the first place, and remove those parts eliminating any chance it could cause an issue in the future.
