I went into the Army in '88. Jeeps were pretty much gone and replaced with 1008s, 1009s and the 880 series. Were the jeeps really modular like that?

No fluid spill when the radiator was removed/replaced...

No kiddin' - wonder how long it took 'em to learn how to do it so easily? Somehow, I'd be reluctant to run down bumpy roads w/that thing - somethin' tells me them bolts aren't exactly torqued ta specs!

There's many things a Jeep can do that a Hummer can't!

But that is a specially-made one for the demonstration. Cool, ain't it!

    Cheers! M2

An Army buddy of mine told me these things could be stripped down in less than five minutes as they were "Basically snap-together parts." I never believed him until now.

    That was a great flick!

I knew some guys in Chicago who would steal a car to order. Both guys had Jeeps so they attached chains to each side of the car, took a run at it with the Jeeps and pulled the front end wide open. They came in with a crane and swiped the whole engine and transmission in just a few minutes.

In Chicago, if you chain your car to a pole, they will steal the car, the chain AND the pole!
