Just wanted to see what the general consensus out there was with respect to the manual spin dial vs the digital numeric key pad before purchasing a Browning gun safe.
    Opinions/advice appreciated!

I like the digital. Super fast and easy to get into. It has its downsides too...but even when batteries die you can just pop in a new one and get right in. I have other concerns about digital. For me the ease of entry lured me in.

Most will tell you to get a mechanical dial because they are more reliable. They do, however, make it much more time consuming to enter the safe so I guess it depends how often you are looking to get into it.

I just went through the agonizing process of looking at and selecting a safe. I went with an electronic lock because it was just so much easier and quicker to get into. It might bite me in the ass some day but I go in there at least twice a day so for me it may be worth it.

mechanical dial sounds good to me.

electronic ones seem fragile to me.
