I have a stainless steel knife that my son gave me. I broke the tip off of it. Can I regrind a point of it with a grinder without messing up the temper of the knife?

With very light and quick passes, it wouldnt change the temper. If you have the patience to do it, use a long axe stone to shape a new one on it.

Yeah, just be VERY careful not to get the knife too hot. Use plenty of water and a very light touch.

Oh, and NEXT time, don't use the knife as a screwdriver or pry bar.

I just did the same thing to my Kershaw!

Whats a good place in either san antonio or austin to get this fixed at since i have no experience in knife sharpening.
