The Benelli m4 is worth the price. It is a great gun. You could use it for a sledge hammer and never hurt it. I think the price is a little inflated because the Marines use it, but it is still worth it.

It it worth another $600-$1000 for the collapsing stock? That is up for debate.

    Texas!
Having played with both, I just couldn't find enough difference to justify spending $1,000.00 more. I actually couldn't find enough difference to spending $100.00 more for the M4 over the 930. I would have paid the extra $1,000.00 and never blinked if it was worth it....I just didn't see it...

If I buy a semi-auto shotgun for tactical usage, it will be a Benelli ... hands down. The Mossberg 930 looks like a cheap toy next to the Benelli. The M4 has less recoil, twin gas pistons, better sights, better feel, etc. It's just a superior gun.

The M4 has two operating systems. If one fails, the other is there to continue functioning. It is THE top of the line in a defensive/tactical shotgun. Does everyone need one? No. Is it the best you can buy? Yes.

    I have a Benelli M1 super 90 14" entry gun and a 1014 (M4).

i use the 1014 for 3 gun. It works.

The Mossberg 930 that showed up, new, outof hte box, didn't work.

    Nuff said
