I just got a midway shipment of 338 projectiles and my 338 federal dies. Im hoping to get a few test rounds loaded for my newest addition.
I was very excited to try out these 160 grain Barnes TTSX, I figure they will get good velocity and poke big holes. But I open the package and the first projectile I see is in sad shape, copper peeling on one side and plastic tip mangled on the other. I keep digging in the box and I'm seeing a bunch of uneven, wonky plastic tips that look like they are stick in crooked.
Is this normal for Barnes TTSX?
Am I expecting too much for a $1 projectile?
