I am looking for something to pull behind my ATV to plow up some areas. I used to have an old spring tooth plow that was 4 ft wide that worked great. Loaned it to a friend...never seen again. What are ya'll using?
Being this will be my first attempt at it, I was hoping to tap the knowledge of others who may have done them. My guess is it doesn't need to be too deep 2-4 inches maybe? @FireInTheWire I hear you on the sending my ATV to the grave. It's a Yamaha Grizzly 600. I don't want to "kill" it.CV, how deep do want to break up the ground? I understand you want to do a food plot, but I have never done one, so.....I don't know exactly how deep you need to go. Knowing that, maybe we can offer some ideas fro you.

The soil appears to ne more sand than clay, so I may be able to get by with a lighter attachment and add weight if needed.
Yes. I fact I went in with my weed eater a few days back and cleared a 40'x40' area and he has a small garden tiller to use for that spot (existing area with feeder). What would have been ideal is if he had gotten a tiller for the skid steer when had had it. Would have made quick work of the areas. Can you bring in a walk behind tiller for these small areas?
No resolve on disc/plow, the wheels are still spinning in my headYou ever get any resolve on this? I came across this the other day and it reminded me of your question. Seems it might work....

What we ended up doing is pulling a harrow drag behind quad to 'scrape' off all the loose debris and roots then ran the tiller back and forth to loosen it up. Spread the seed and I drove back over with the quad to force the seed in. This was Saturday, and the ground still had some moisture from the previous rain (4-5 days before). I went out this morning and all the seeded plots were sprouting. We did one more section and the rains came. Finished just in time before it got too muddy. Good thing I had a change of clothes as I was 100% soaked head to foot, even my boots. Will go back out in a few days and see how the rain helped and hang some stands and put up some cameras. Will post up some photos.
